Jim,
I don't know that I've ever been to a concert where I've been totally ensconced in the music as I was Friday night with you and Stephen. I don't know that I've been taken from joy to tears and back in such a short time before, but it was tears for the beauty of the music. I hope to hear you both again soon and we so miss you at church.

I discovered your music in early 2011 when you began to record hymns on your site. Not a day goes by without the joy of listening to your music. Your CD's travel with me in the car & I am a more peaceful driver. My husband & I loved the concert you did with your brother on 5/11. We are grateful to be uplifted by your talents.
Keep on keepin on. Blessings Deny

Jim: The concert you and Stephen performed Friday evening May 11, 2012 was one of the 3 best concerts I have ever witnessed in my life. The other 2 were Neil Diamond and The Trans Siberian Orchestra. I do not think that you and Stephen know how special your musical talents are. Those talents are a true gift from God. Gail told me that the song you dedicated to us "What a friend we have in Jesus" was the big talk in the ladies room during the break. I consider my life to be lucky to have crossed paths with you, Stephen and Denise. I did buy the storytelling album by Denise and truly enjoyed it. You were correct the acappella song at the end of the album is 2nd to none. What a voice. Thank you for sharing your talent once again with us. I will never forget that concert. In God's love, Adonis

Just popping in to say I'm at working listening to "Prayer" and loving as much as the first day I heard it! This is a Standard for me, and remains one of my most frequent "go-to" albums.

So there :)

Thank you so much for blessing us with excellent worship leading at Clergy Convo. I purchased all three of your cd's and listened to "The Lone, Wild Bird" twice in my 2.5 hr. journey back to Martinsville. Thank you for keeping me company.
Peace and Joy,

I listen as often as I can. I am listening at the moment to "Thy Holy Wings. O Savior." Beautiful! This is a new one for me. Are you sure there isn't more than one Jim Bennett playing? Your music lifts me up and relaxes me at the same time. What an awesome feeling! Thank you. :^) I am grateful to be one of the recipients of your most wonderful gift!

Jim, we listened to your playing the first time at Stephen and Nancy's wedding party (actually "after party") and we were very impressed by your musical talent. Thanks for letting us share in your inspiration. We love listening to you. If and when you play in NYC, please let us know. We would very much like to be at your concert.

A belated Birthday wish - sorry this is so late! I wanted to spend the weekend listening again very particularly to "The lone Wild Bird" and "Prayer". They have become so familiar to me now, because I listen to them all the time! The first time I heard "Prayer" (the piece you wrote) was right after my sister died. I felt peaceful and comforted in a way that I hadn't since her death. It is beautifully soothing and meditative. I also love "What a Friend We Have in Jesus." Every time I hear it, I want to get up and dance! Your jazzed up versions of these lovely hymms are full of feeling. Your talent is so incredibly evident in each piece. When are you making another CD?

Happy Birthday Jim,
I hope your day has been wonderful. I'm grateful for the way in which your playing helps me to recall the joy of songs I often heard in childhood. Keep playing for the next 50 years!

Yesterday a dear friend passed away that I have known since we were teens. I spontaneously sent your music link to some of her other friends thinking that your music would speak to them & bring peace in the way it has for me.
below are some of the quotes they sent back.

“Your killing me.  I reluctantly clicked on the site and the work for the day is done because the tears will not stop.  I have to pack, and clean, and cook but the piano is a lovely focus.   PS. Thank Jim Bennett”

“Thanks Deny- I have it on at work right now.”

“Thanks, Deny...very beautiful and soothing.”

“If you haven't yet played the wonderful music that Deny sent, do it soon. It is so beautiful and relaxing.  I have had it on since it arrived.”

“I put it in my favorites.....”

“The music is wonderful.  I left it on while I was out for a few hours this afternoon.  My husband said he enjoyed it too.  I have it on now too.  I have always loved “church music” but I especially love his style.  He could make a set of CD’s and I’d surely buy it. “

and another friend not one of our classmates

“Thanks so much for sharing this.  I played his music all the way through lunch (and beyond) and it was wonderful.  Up to that point, I was not having a wonderful day and getting involved in singing along with hymns that are part of my heritage, I felt completely restored.

I think Jim and his music may become a daily companion.  Blessings ”

Thank you your music is touching hearts across the country today.

Jim:
Happy Half-Century Birthday! I'm happily listening to "Dove of Peace" and thinking that to me you are much more an eagle than a dove. And, for some reason the rythmns I'm most hearing are not piano chords but a vivid audio-visual memory of you leading the drumming circle at the old Richjmond's Men's Council. Your energy and enthusiasm (and sense of rythmn and timing) were impeccable. Happy Birthday and a very happy year!

Happy Birthday! This is a great website. Good luck with a hymn a day...probably the best material is free. I've always loved your playing. It never has that "all sounds alike" syndrome. You move between tempos and styles and keep everything fresh. I hope this is a fantastic year for you.

Attended the concert in Williamsburg last night. You and Stephen were a delight to the senses. Your arrangement of O Come, O Come Emmanuel was the most beautiful I have ever heard. I am enjoying the CD as I type. Thanks again for an enchanting evening!!!
